January 2018 Newsletter:

Keeping Warm with Quilts!

Dear Sisters in Thread,

Happy 2018 to all of you! I’m first of all sorry that this newsletter has been delayed. My only excuse is my brain isn’t working at its’ full capacity because of the cold! Gina and I hope you had the best of holidays and are ready to get back to some soul-renewing sewing! We have some great ideas, classes and demonstrations for you.

We are starting a Finishing Contest for the New Year. You have until January 13 to register any unfinished projects with us in our “Notebook”. We will denote Fridays as “Work to Finish” days when you are welcome to come in and work on your listed projects. Every time you finish a listed project, your name will be entered into our Prize Basket of Goodies drawing. You will have until April 15 (Tax Day) to finish any listed projects and then we will draw from the name jar and a lucky quilter will win our Basket! So the more projects you list with us, the more chances you have to finish and win! We urge you to participate!

Log Cabin Quilts and Pineapple Quilts are two new classes on our schedule along with some familiar classes and clubs such as HandiQuilter Club, Knit Club, Kim Diehl and Wool Club. There are paper piecing classes and a free Demo on January 25. Deanna VanAssche is back with her Creative Stitches classes on Thursdays instead of Fridays for the season of Lent. If you want to learn how to crazy quilt, just call and we will arrange a pre-class so you can join in with the stitchers in the scheduled classes without a pause.
