August 2015 Newsletter:

Hot Quilting is Not Hot Yoga-It’s Cool!

Dear Sisters in Thread,

After 21 years of writing our newsletter, the headline above may just be the silliest one I have ever written. Forgive me, but I’m leaving it. It is just too hot to reconsider.

August is one of those months that everyone is saying “what happened to all my time???” We are in the same boat; Row by Row kit making is becoming a habit and it is hard to believe the season of H2O is halfway over! We are thrilled to have a winning quilt already hanging in our shop thanks to Wanda Philbin of Pte. Tremble Canada! She made a gorgeous quilt using our Surf and Sand row along with 3 other Michigan and 4 Wisconsin Rows acquired on her vacation! Please come in and admire all her hard work!

We have two wonderful Amy Bradley Blocks of the Month starting in August. First is the Campers Quilt that is bringing a smile to everyone’s faces and stirring some good memories too. The second is the Garden Quilt that features bright happy flowers and gardening tools.

For those of you who are looking for something a little cooler (!), Paula is doing a Snowbound Block of the Month that features pretty snowflakes and snowmen. Please come in and check them all out soon.

We are also starting a Scrap Club at the shop and will have a planning meeting 11 am on Saturday August 22 open to anyone who is interested.

Our Free Demos Thursday has been a big hit in July and it is continuing into August. Every Thursday at 2 pm, either Gina or I will be demonstrating a tool, technique or pattern. You can check your email inbox on each Tuesday to see what the Thursday demonstration will be!

Also a reminding that the AQS Quilt Show is happening in Grand Rapids from August 12-15!
