April 2015 Newsletter:
New Life, New Ideas, New Quilts!
Dear Sisters in Thread,
Easter is almost upon us, so I hope you have all your ducks and bunnies in a row and are ready to be inspired by the new life we see happening all around us. We will be manning our booth at two wonderful quilt shows this month and hope we will see you there and in the shop soon! Gina is beginning a new Applique Club at the shop that includes wool and cotton (you choose either or both) and will include some stitchery. You can bring in a current project or begin a new one! This begins on Thursday April 2 from 6-9 pm and is $10 per month or you can pre-register for 6 months for $50! Mary is teaching a wonderful Grand Slam Quilt where a chunky rail fence made from scrappy blocks comes together to create a cohesive quilt top. It measures 60”x84” and the class is Tuesday April 28 from 1-3 pm for just $10. Lots of fun and a great quilt for a man or boy! On Wednesday April 1st we are having a “No Foolin’” sale! We will take an additional 10% off our ½ off items in the store! A great opportunity for a bargain and more. The Quilt Guild of Metro Detroit is having their Quilts From the Heart 2015 Show on Friday, April 17 (10-6) and Saturday April 18 (10-5) at the Roseville Recreation Center located at 18185 Sycamore Street, Roseville, 48066. We will have new things to show and sell in our booth and the quilts are always fantastic at this show! Be inspired and bring a friend! The Peaches and Patches Quilt Guild of Romeo is having their Spring Quilt Show on Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25 from 10-4 at the Romeo Parks and Recreation Senior Activity Center located at 361 Morton Street in Romeo 48065. They are also soliciting quilts to display in their show. The entry form can be obtained at our shop. The entry fee is $10 per quilt. There are many wonderful quilts out there that deserve a turn in the spotlight, so don’t be afraid to enter! More information regarding entering can be found by calling Gail Winne at 810-395-8101. We hope that whatever type of quilting you love, you will come see us soon at the shop. We have been in business for over 20 years and want to help you be the best quilter that you can be! Quilters are some of the best and most generous people in the world and we love hearing your stories and helping you to expand your knowledge and skills (and pick out that perfect fabric!).
