Summer Begins to Sizzle
At Sew Together Quilt Shop!
Dear Sisters in Thread,
We have been to Quilt Market and we are so excited to share our finds with you! Please come to our Market Party on Tuesday June 10 from 6-8 pm and get a first glimpse of what made us ooh and ahh! We will have it all out to show you and some demos too! Of course, there is always something sweet to eat while you peruse our finds! Hope you can come and see!
I hope this newsletter finds all of you busily finishing your quilts for our Sew and Sew Summer Sizzle Quilt Show June 19-21! We are having a joint venture with Sew Elegant Quilt Shoppe in Fort Gratiot for a great way to get inspired, win prizes and save money (Sale!!). Everyone is invited to enter one quilt in our show, either at our shop in Richmond or at Sew Elegant. We will display them and give any adult customer (no grandchildren stuffing the ballot boxes!) a vote for their favorite. The quilter with the most votes tallied from both shops will win a $75 gift voucher from each shop! Runner up will receive a $25 gift voucher from each of us! There are no size or technique requirements to be met but we do ask that you call us anytime from June 1 on to let us know if you are going to display a quilt with us. We will begin receiving quilts on Friday June 13 through the morning of June 18.
Of course, any event at our shop wouldn’t be fun without prizes and a sale. We will have 20% off all regular priced fabric, books and notions during the 3-day quilt show. There will also be hourly door prizes for our customers during the show. It’s a win/win situation! So don’t miss it!
Gina is also starting a Summer Star Block Challenge this month! Starting on June 21 and going throughout the summer, you are challenged to make one star block of your choice (12” fin.) per week. We would also like you to come in and see last year’s challenge results.
Even though it doesn’t officially begin until July 1, we want you to join in the Michigan Row By Row Experience! It is a state-wide shop hop that doesn’t cost you a cent! You just need to visit any participating shop and ask for their free pattern. The theme of this year’s event is Sew a Season. You can see all the participating shops by going to www.rowbyrowexperience.com and clicking on our state. You can also follow on Facebook by going to www.facebook.com/MIRowByRowExperience. This event runs through Sept. 2. Of course there are prizes! If you complete a quilt of at least 8 of the rows and take it to your local quilt shop first, you will receive a prize of 25 fat quarters! If you come here first and have used our row in you quilt, we will give you a bonus prize too! Here is a look at our row:
Of course, we will have fabric kits available for purchase too. All the Row By Row patterns are free for the asking, but are NOT to be copied. You must appear in person to receive the free patterns.
