March and April 2014 Newsletter Dear Sisters in Thread, Enough with the snow and cold, already! Thank you to all of you who have braved the elements to come and see us this winter. If you already didn’t know, well, we love you! Easter time always gives us hope and promise and to celebrate the beginning of Lent we will have our Fat Tuesday/Fat Quarter sale on March 4 (and extended to Wednesday March 5, too!). Buy 12 fat quarters and get 12 FREE! This also applies to our fat eighths. This is a great time to stock up and save. We also want to remind you the Sew and Sew Summer Sizzle Quilt Show is a joint effort between Sew Elegant Quilt Shoppe in Fort Gratiot and our shop on Thursday June 19-Saturday June 21! We want to display your quilts – any type or size – and give you a chance to win our viewer’s choice. We will have lots of fun and prizes and a great SALE, too. There is no charge to enter, no passport fee to pay. Just visit both of our shops and vote for your favorite quilt. Each purchasing adult will have a vote. Entries are limited to one per person. We will have more information on this as the time approaches, but we wanted to give all of you a heads-up so you can finish that prize-winning quilt for our show! We are also having a HandiQuilter Spring Cleaning Sale in March. We will clean and lube your HandiQuilter machine for only $110 (normally $140). Don’t miss the opportunity to have you Avante or Sweet Sixteen purring like a kitten! Appointments are necessary, so please call. In April (8-12) we will be having Spring Cleaning Weekwith some extra-special ½-off items, including some vintage blocks of the month! As our club meetings take off, we want to thank all of you for your great support of our Jo’s Little Women Club. We are so excited to have you participating. And just a note for those of you in Knit Club: due to Sue’s knee replacement, knit club will be cancelled starting March 18 through the end of April. If all goes as planned, there will be a knit club meeting on Tuesday April 29, but please call to confirm! We also want to invite you to a special knitting class held by Deanna VanAssche. She will be teaching how to make either an infinity scarf or hat (beads a possibility!) on Saturday, March 15. It will be fun and please come in and see the samples hanging in the shop! We are authorized Handi Quilter dealers and can offer you a great quilting experience with these American-made, high-quality quilting machines! Please call us for a test drive on the HQ18 Avante or the HQ16 Sit Down models in our store! We offer sales and authorized repairs on Handi Quilters – even if you didn’t buy your machine from us (too bad!) Class Policy: We offer all students of paid classes a 15% discount on all regular priced merchandise. You must register for classes early since we must notify the teacher with the number of registered students. Please don’t assume we know you are coming. Classes without the minimum number of students will be cancelled. If we have to cancel a class your registration is fully refundable. There is no refund if you cancel a class with less than a week’s notice unless there are special circumstances. In-store credit will be given under special circumstances, but Gina or Sue must personally Okay this. Call us at (586)727-1555.
