May and June 2013 Newsletter

Dear Sisters in Thread,

We are celebrating our 19th birthday in business and we want you to celebrate with us!  Starting on Thursday, May 16 through Saturday May 18 we are having a sale (of course!) All three days we are featuring Buy One Get One Half Off on any regular priced fabric, thread, patterns books and notions (your half-off item must be a like item of same or lesser value).  If you spend $50 any day you will receive a free yard of fabric (from our selected basket of pre-cut yards).  On Thursday we are proud to announce that 10% of our proceeds will be donated to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, so we hope you will do some heavy-duty shopping so we can have a generous donation to this great charity!

Our excitement for Stash Dash 2013, Good Old Summertime, is growing by leaps and bounds.  We are filling our bus on Thursday June 20, but still have room for some intrepid Dashers!  The Dash continues that Friday June 21 and Saturday June 22 for those of you who want to travel on your own.  Passports continue to be only $10 and you receive lots of free stuff including a batik at each shop you visit. The bus trip is only $85 (and that includes your passport, pin, lunch, driver gratuity and oodles of fun with like-minded quilters!). Anyone who signs up by June 1 also receives an Early Bird Coupon worth 20% off one item of your choice.  Be sure to go towww.michiganstashdash.com and check out all the pictures of the quilts and blocks.  Everyone seems super excited about the batiks we are all using!  Please note that this event is a week later than last year so all of our teacher friends can participate too!

Because of the events happening this newsletter, we have an abbreviated class schedule but as that changes, we will send out notices of news classes via email.  We are quite happy to announce our new Block of the Week (only $4.50 per block) using Barbara Brackman’s book “Civil War Sampler” (you must buy the book to participate) starting in June.  Also starting in June is our wool Snowman Block of the Month ($12 per month) that is just marvelous.  Call to place your name on the roster or for more information!

So here are our classes and clubs meeting this newsletter.

Christmas Club is meeting on Saturday May 4 and June 1 from 10 am to noon.

Dear Jane is a free club for Civil War enthusiasts and meets for free from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday May 8 and June 5.

Knit Club meets twice per month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Tuesdays May 14, 21 and June 4 and 18. Knitters of any level are welcome and the cost is $5 per session with help available.

UFO Club meets on Saturday May 18 and June 15 from 10 am to 3 pm.  This is a great time to finish up projects.  Space is limited so you must call for reservations.

Crazy Quilting Classes with Deanna VanAssche are fun and informative and happen on Fridays, May 17 and 31 and June 7 and 28 from 1-3:30 pm for only $10 per session.

We also have what we call Fun Fridays on May 10, 24 and June 7 from 5 to 9 pm.  You bring a dish to pass, something to work on and it costs $5 per night.  A great way to network with your quilting friends, or to make some new ones.

We want to remind you to go towww.sewtogetheronline.com to sign up for our newsletter. It is easy to do and when you submit your email you will receive a free pattern! We would also like to encourage you to “Like” us on Facebook because we post quick pictures and updates there for your information.

We are authorized Handi Quilter dealers and can offer you a great quilting experience with these American-made, high-quality quilting machines!  Please call us for a test drive on the HQ18 Avante or the HQ16 Sit Down models in our store!  We offer sales and authorized repairs on Handi Quilters – even if you didn’t buy your machine from us (too bad!)

Class Policy: We offer all students of paid classes a 15% discount on all regular priced merchandise. You must register for classes early since we must notify the teacher with the number of registered students. Please don’t assume we know you are coming. Classes without the minimum number of students will be cancelled. If we have to cancel a class your registration is fully refundable. There is no refund if you cancel a class with less than a week’s notice unless there are special circumstances. In-store credit will be given under special circumstances, but Gina or Sue must personally Okay this. Call us at (586)727-1555.

Hours: Tues.-Thurs. 10-5, Friday 10-7, Sat. 10-4. Closed Sundays and Mondays

Thank you and God bless all of you for your continued friendship and support! It means so much to us!
